Giusy Bettoni on sustainable storytelling + education – Sourcing Journal

Sustainability developed into an industry-wide goal, but some pioneers had low-impact fashion even earlier on their agendas.

For our latest episode of the Blue Cast podcast, sustainability pioneer Giusy Bettoni joined Michael Kininmonth from Lenzing for a discussion on building a more responsible fashion industry. Giusy is a consultant at Premiere Vision and an Eco-Age consultant. She also has a long history with TENCEL ™. A few decades ago, she was the Italian representative for fiber, which at the time belonged to Courtaulds, then Michael’s employer.

In 2007, Giusy founded CLASS, which stands for Creativity, Style of Life and Sustainable Synergies. With the mission of “activating the supply chain”, this platform researches and teaches everyone, from producers and brands to consumers, about responsible fashion. It also serves as a spotlight for durable materials.
