Real Madrid interested in Andrea Belotti
La Liga champions Real Madrid are reportedly considering signing 28-year-old Italy international Andrea Belotti in a Bosman move this summer.
According to a report from a Spanish outlet Files, Andrea Belotti is the subject of interest from Real Madrid over a possible transfer of Bosman during the summer transfer window. The 28-year-old Italy international is a free agent after running out of contract with Torino earlier this month.
Andrea Belotti has been one of Serie A’s most consistent performers over the past half-decade, producing brilliant performances. Some of his individual campaigns were key to keeping Torino in the Italian top flight, and he amassed a solid record 113 goals and 28 assists in 251 outings for the Granata.
But Belotti’s stint with Torino ended earlier this month as he became a free agent after exhausting his contract. But despite the Italian club’s strong record, the 28-year-old Italy international is not even closer to joining his next club. This stalemate could end soon, with Real Madrid aiming for it.
Carlo Ancelotti has recently insisted that Real Madrid won’t sign any new players until the last month of the summer transfer window. But that stance has changed in recent days amid uncertainty surrounding the futures of Marco Asensio, Borja Mayoral and Mariano Diaz.
Recent reports have claimed that Mayoral are close to joining Getafe in a €10m deal. With Mariano Diaz also attracting multiple clubs and Asensio entering the final year of his contract, Real Madrid may have to dive into the deal again; this time to sign a striker.
Belotti has thus become a viable target for Real Madrid, with his free agent status making him an attractive proposition. Other options on Real Madrid’s radar are Edin Dzeko and Edinson Cavani, the latter also being a free agent after leaving Manchester United.
It will be interesting to see if Belotti becomes one of Real Madrid’s top targets in the coming weeks. But the 28-year-old Italy international will likely be eager to finalize his next destination as soon as possible, even if he will have to bide his time to join Real Madrid.
